A grin or two©

A grin or two©

Seems a day in need of a grin or two,

One grin for me and one grin for you.

Wax on poetic, of time gone by and places fond,
perhaps a wooded place, a river, lake or pond.

Patient Advice©

Patient Advice©

Be patient…I recall being your age and know my turmoil at that time,
most has passed and the future is brighter and in all of it,
I found that not taking one’s self too seriously helps…..

The unrighteous become even more unrighteous©

The unrighteous become even more unrighteous©

As the gap widens and the schisms split further and further, those who ignore God will learn to fear Him greatly. Their ignorance and fear will breed hatred; hatred being the antithesis of love, and will separate these confounders of truth further and further from God. Hence; the unrighteous become even more unrighteous.

Religion and Spirituality

Religion and Spirituality

It has been said that Religion and Spirituality are not necessarily one in the same...

For many, religion is something they profess, a pre-set structure of rules and rituals, a body of people, an organization, a group in which someone belongs, a standard to follow, a pursuit of excellence and perfection.

In many religions, the ultimate goal, called by many names, is a greater reward in a heavenly place when life, as we know it, reaches its earthly end.

Spirituality, to many, is a state of being, of understanding, of discernment, of empathy, of compassion, of gratitude, of peaceful resolve, of ultimate relief through an exchange of earthly burdens for loving, pure and selfless realization and effortless sense of presence with the ultimate highest power.

In our circle of friends, it is often stated that religion is for those of us busily preparing for Heaven. And spirituality is for those of us who have been to Hell and wish never again to return.

The smile in our hearts is the greater of smiles....
when our heart smiles,

the one on our face comes naturally.

Simplicity in Life©

Simplicity in Life©

The only simple parts of our life here on this Earth are the parts of God's love for us

and our love for Him...

...all else, that is touched by man, gets complicated...

Great things, about a prayer

Great things, about a prayer

-Don’t have to buy them since they are free
-doesn’t require a 39 cent stamp or a silly card
-always can give one away without blowing the budget
-giving them is as good as getting them
-always suitable for those you know or total strangers
-it can be repeated without wearing it out

Keep Praying….©

Keep Praying….©

Recently a clergyman of some distinction was praying to God,

about all the problems of the world...

The clergyman asked of God,

“Why don't you just "Smoke Them"?”

There came a brief pause,

then God responded;

"I don't smoke"!

Keep praying, it confuses Satan

The Choice is Ours.. ©

The Choice is Ours.. ©

Whether one believes in a Deity or not, it is reasonably easy to concede there is some higher power, something greater than self. Whatever one's perception, and that may be a sunrise or sunset, flowers, an architectural, musical or artistic masterpiece, or a God of one's own choice, that perception is justifiable and OK for all of them.

The perceived goodness or evil of a human being, is subjective to other's standards of life, the choices made during that life and the impact of those choices upon others govern both perception and reality. We all are indeed capable of altruism or total selfishness, capable also of a life dedicated to the improvement of their fellow humans or the pain and destruction of them.

Choice, right or wrong, and the freedom to do so, is what differentiates us from the lowest forms of life. Belief in something, faith in that belief and choices made through
that faith set us aside, from all others in the evolution chain.

When considering the existence of a power greater than one's self,

one needs to consider how that power might consider our existence.

Such Blessings, Such Gifts©

Such Blessings, Such Gifts©

Such blessings, such gifts, are the gifts of the Spirit; to have the Spirit to nudge us, to help us to be aware, to enlighten us, to prepare us, to comfort us, and to help us to discern.

Such blessings, such gifts; indeed.

It Takes What it Takes©

It Takes What it Takes©

At times through our lives, we have had to do the impossible.

We did it, generally for others, for parents, for spouses, for children, for employers.

Somehow, we reached deep within, to a reserve of strength, that even amazed us we possessed such.

We made selfless sacrifices.

We gave when we thought we could give no more.

So, why is it we find it so hard to do the same for ourselves?

Perhaps we feel that we do not deserve it.

Perhaps we feel we are being selfish, to do something for ourselves.

Perhaps we do not any longer value ourselves.

Or perhaps it is difficult, to think of self-altogether.

That same reserve is still within us.

That same strength is ours, for the asking.

That same spirit, to persevere, is available.

That same higher power, that made all possible before, is still there for us today.

In all the other years and all the other circumstances, for others, It took what it took.

Today, for us,

It Takes What It Takes.
