Anyone ever been to group stress management at either the VA or some other agency?
If so, was it helpful?
I just started last week. So far, so good, at least nothing bad has come of it. Guys that are really serious are the only ones that sign up.
I'd like to see some ideas from others about this, please!
Thank you.happysmile

Wild Trapper:
I don't have any "serious" group experience, since VA spit me out for PTSD, and I have been blessed with good Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and mental health benefits through work. I have been in the generic group stress management stuff. I go with an open mind and always come away feeling fortunate, compared to some other people's issues. I get kind of agitated sitting through long harangs but I use the time to pray and try to figure out what I would do in the other person's situation. One of the most important things I have learned in group situations is that we never know when something we say, in love, can help someone else. Nobody else has been down exactly your trail, and you can be the best guide God puts in their life at that moment.
Hang in there, and God will make something happen. My 2 cents.
