Gone But Not Forgotten
I hold the pen in my trembling hand
As I write this story, trying to understand
Happily playing and full of joy
I can still see him now, for he was just a boy
Together we went to school, shared our food
Shared many things, intertwined in brotherhood
Unaware of what life would bring, fortune or fame?
Instead unwelcomed sorrow, grief and pain
Many soldiers in the battlefield dying
Never really understanding, never even crying
Then you come home and become aware
All of a sudden your friend, your cousin,
your brother is not there
Life must go on this I know
Even though destiny has dealt us a vicious blow
I’ll always remember you in my heart
Though you are gone we are not far apart
May the Lord keep you in His tender care
I’ll always remember you in my prayer
Alas, adios, good-bye brother whom I dearly miss
God keep you, God bless you, we love you Chris
