Several years ago I was in Washington DC for Memorial Day and met a lady that was displaying some orange quilts on the grass beside the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall.

We briefly talked and then did not see each other for years until the Melbourne Vet Reunion in 2004.

Jennie LeFevre was a wonderful woman that dedicated her life to those that suffer or suffered from cancers caused by Agent Orange. Her husband Gerald died of Agent Orange related cancer....after his death....Jennie constructed a quilt that memorialized his life and service to our country. As she traveled with it to promote Agent Orange awareness, others asked if they could make one also for their loved ones and she would accept "blocks" made by family members and assemble them into more quilts.

She then became an unofficial clearing house for Agent Orange information. She then became associated with the Dignity Wall program and travelled with them to locations around the Country.

Sadly she also died of cancer in the fall of 2004 and is buried at Arlington National Cemetary along side her husband.

The story does not end there. Jennie's family gave the quilts to Henry and Sheila Snyder who continue to display the quilts and promulgate Agent Orange and other Veteran information. Both Henry and Sheila are very dedicated to make sure the Quilts receive the highest exposure and keep Jennie's memory alive.
