Darl Jack Gosseline, 59, Retired Marine Corps, Master Gunnery Sergeant E-9, age 59, of Ashland, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, January 30, at his residence. He was born April 30, 1945, in Coronado Island, Calif, the son of Darl A. and Margery (Chaparro) Gosseline.

On March 4, 1964, he entered the United States Marine Corps and served as a combat infantry man during three tours in Vietnam. Following Vietnam, he served 18 years as a Marine physical training instructor and later retired from the military in April of 1989.

While in the Marines, he received the Rifle Expert Badge,Pistol Expert Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with four stars, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medalwith 60 Device, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Frame, Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Colors with Palm and Frame, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with One Star, Good Conduct Medal with seven Stars, Meritorious Mast, Certificate of Commendation, Navy Unit Commendation, and Meritorious Unit Commendation.

Darl was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V., and the VFW.

He enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, and spending tiome with his family.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, Feb. 5, at Frost Home for Funerals in Ashland, Wisconsin with Dr. Darrel Robertson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
