Robert M. Collins, 78, of Ossian, Indiana died Monday, Sept. 27.
He had a 30-year career in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Robert was my Uncle Bob. When tragedy struck our home in 1970, he came and without even a second thought, took me home with he and his wife to live with them indefinately. He was the most stable father figure in my life. Always true to his wife, totally devoted to being honorable and to doing what was right no matter what everyone around him did.
We miss you Uncle Bob. May your seas be calm most of the time.
