Graveside services for Mr. James C. "Jim" Greene Jr., USMC retired, age 76, of Lindale, are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, in the Lindale City Cemetery with Teresa Elliott and Jason Thomas officiating. Services are under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale.

Mr. Greene died on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in a Tyler hospice center. He was born on Dec. 31, 1932, in Smith County to James Clyde Sr. and Virginia Mackey Greene. Mr. Greene retired from the U.S. Marine Corps and was formerly of North Carolina before returning to Lindale. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Greene was a co-founder of the US TOO prostate cancer support group in Tyler, a life member of the VFW, and The Retired Officers Association.

Survivors include his son, James Christopher Greene of Greenville, N.C.; three daughters, Julie Diane Blauman of Naples, Fla., Sara Kathryn Tesh of Winterville, N.C., and Karen Lynn Williams of Wilmington, N.C.; niece, Ginny Neyman of Lindale; three nephews, Charles Neyman of Longview, James Neyman of Fort Worth and Joe C. Hubbard of Abilene; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
