Donald "Skip" Edlund has passed into eternity.
I met Skip for the first time in 1996 when he and his wife Cora were travelling with MAPS, an Assemblies Ministry that helps build Churches. He was doing double duty as a Recon Outpost Leader for Pointman.
Skip was a Marine that served in Vietnam, and was wounded three times.
Over the years, we would see each other in different parts of the country and it was always like we had never been apart.
He was one gracious individual with a burden for Veterans and their welfare. From the moment we met, it was like we knew each other forever.
Skip seemed to be everywhere at once and Cora was always right beside him.
Please pray for Skips family.
I will post some pics here in this thread. If you have some comments, please share them and I will make sure Cora gets them.
Thanks, Dana

Skip and Cora were never shy about going anywhere to bring the Gospel to others. The following are pictures from a homeless Veterans camp near Melbourne Florida.

this is the campsite.
The scripture quoting Jesus, "Whatever you have done for the least of these, you have done for Me" fits Skip and also Cora. You will be sorely missed brother. Rest in peace.

Although I never met Skip, by the confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ I know him as brother. Rest in peace my friend.

REJOICE!!!!
Skip is in God's arms as we mourn. He is singing God's praises with his beautiful voice! HE IS HOME, Honorably Discharged from his duties on earth!!! This is one Marine that God welcomed with open arms as His faithful servant.
I was in prayer for Cora this morning whe God spoke to me. HE said, "Silly boy, you know that I've got Cora in my arms right now. I will be with her forever. Believe me, I didn't need my artificial tears for these old eyes....
Skip left His mark where ever he went. I remember the Sunday in Grand Rapids, MI after Skip had preached. We had finished dinner at a restaurant when a rough looking biker walked in. Skip noticed the Nam service ribbon on his vest, walked over and gave him a big hug with his "Welcome Home Brother". They talked for a few minutes then Skip went to wash his hands. When he came out he had a very shocked look on his face and apologized to the biker.. Skip forgot that he had a suit and tie on and thought he might have offended him.
My only regret is that we weren't able to be together more as he was Semper Fi all the way.
Our prayers will continue for Cora to feel God's peace....

This is a report from the Memorial Service, from Mike Harris, Outpost 101, Coos Bay, Oregon
Greetings Everyone,
Skip's Memorial Service went very well today. There were at least a
couple of hundred people in attendance. Two of Skip and Cora's pastors
from Alaska shared the service. Testimonies were given by some in the
pews. A 21 gun salute was followed by Taps. Afterwards everyone hugged
on Cora and other family members. The potluck was then enjoyed in the
basement of the church.
Thanks to all for you prayers. Please remember the family members as
they continue to readjust their lives. Our Lord is faithful to provide
mercy, comfort and peace...
Only by HIS Mighty Grace,
Mike Harris
