Edelstein - Jacob A. Favri, 23, of Edelstein died at 6:57 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born June 8, 1985, in Sycamore, Ill., to Robert and Susan Maushard Favri.
Surviving are his father, Robert of Illinois; his mother, Susan (David) Buchanan of Edelstein; three sisters, Jenna of Lisle, Leah of Minneapolis and Krista of Edelstein; and one stepbrother, Travis of Goodfield. Jacob also is survived by his grandparents, Tom and Nancy Maushard of Peoria, and Bill and Pauline Favri of Milan; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jake was a dedicated and honorable Marine Corps sniper who served three tours of duty in Iraq. He was last stationed in Hawaii and was currently working for the Marine Guard Reserves in Peoria.
Jake loved to hunt, fish, surf and spend time with his loving family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
A funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 12 noon at St. Philomena Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Richardson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
