George P. Wesoloski, 38, of Mount Pocono, died Sunday evening, May 31, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hamilton Township.
Born on Jan. 22, 1971, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of George Wesoloski of North Carolina and the late Linda (Marvin) Wesloski, who died May 9, 2009. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and drove a truck for Roadway for more than eight years.
George served in the United States Marine Corps from 1994 to 1998 and was a member of the Teamster 229 Union in Scranton. He was an avid runner, having participated in the Fun for the Red in 2008 and 2009 and the Steamtown Marathon in 2008. His best marathon time was 3 hours, 24 minutes and 53 seconds.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Mae Coggan-Wesoloski of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; a daughter, Allysa Kristen Wesoloski of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; a son, Mikah Wesoloski of Stroudsburg; his grandmother, Violet (Hanlein) Marvin of Stroudsburg; two sisters, Heather Gaffin of Saylorsburg and Michelle Jones of Scranton; a half-sister, Ashley Wesoloski; a half-brother, Joey Wesoloski; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, LeRoy Marvin; and a nephew, Frank Gaffin.
There will be a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor David Berryman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Cremation took place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
