cj.. in answer to your question about moving photos or posts.. the only way it can be done is to move a entire thread. A administrator can import a entire thread from another location.. such as from here to say MarinesDirect or MarineChat.. or from them to here.. but it has to be the entire thread. Then he would have to go through the posts one by one and delete the posts that was not wanted from the other site..
The makers of the software for the forums (vBulletin) is working on a updated version that will allow a single transfer of a post or posts. But it may take another year before that update is available.

and it looks good too, dont it?
I was at a reunion for 1/5 in Washington with one of my friends, maybe in 1992 or 93, and the Sgt. Major of the Marine Corps came out and addressed those in attendance and called us the OLD CORPS!! Can you imagine that??
We were shocked to say the least and the goose bumps went up and down everyone.
Can you imagine that? the Old Corps???

You realise Chuck, that being a Hollywood Marine, we all naturally thought every pic would have been in Technicolor. You sure that is not just a proof and someone stole the real one?
Just a thought?

This was just sent to me.....
I'm sure all of you have seen many choppers make some daring moves,
but this one is spectacular. Hope you enjoy it.
This attached shot was taken by a trooper in Afghanistan.
Pilot is Larry Murphy, PA National Guard. Larry is a Keystone Helicopter Corp.. EMS
Pilot employee called to active duty. I must state that this is a
"unique" landing operation. I understand that this
particular military operation was to round up suspects. We have some super
reservists and National Guard folks out there in addition to our volunteer
troops. God bless them all.

This photo was taken of me - just 44 years ago - after Boot Camp graduation at MCRD-SAN DIEGO and upon entry into 2nd ITR at Camp Pendleton, California. I was a boot camp squad leader and proud to say that I received my first meritorious promotion upon graduation from boot camp. The innocense and immortality of youth would disappear only months after this photo was taken.
Like so many of us, I was about to learn a new meaning of the word life.... and death.
May peace be with us all.

Well, well, well...... O'Boot and I were running around the Grinder and jumping up and down on the Obstacle course at the same time at MCRD - SAN DIEGO!
He was in April-May-June-July including ITR. 3RD BATTALION?
I was May-June-July-August including ITR. 2ND BATTALION.
Like you said, that's getting pretty close. Somewhere in there my gaze would have wandered across the grinder and watched O'Boot's Platoon showing there stuff. He would have also been one of those "salty" young Marines with the bloused boots that I envied so much until I finally got to blouse my own.
Excuse me, ma'am, but this suddenly makes me feel very old to rush so far into the distant past. Say hello to O'Boot for me and have a nice evening.

Where did they find King Saul?
1 Samuel 10:21-22
And Saul the son of Kish was chosen. But when they sought him, he could not be found. Therefore they inquired of the LORD further, “Has the man come here yet?” And the LORD answered, “There he is, hidden among the stuff.”

Hey Al, we were just going into the Summit Park Mall and I did not have my camera out when I heard them coming. Did not even have time to zoom. They were right over my head and gone in an instant. Turned around and got another pic, but they were too far away.

After looking at the pictures of all those great looking Marines, I thought I'd put an odd looking Army guy from 1969 in the mix for comparison. happysmile These two pictures were my Christmas card home in 1969: "My Two Wars" (like the TV show on then, "My Three Sons") One is suited up for guard duty and the other is recouperating from my first ankle injury. Yes, folks, that is an oboe on my lap, which was used to enterain troops throughout II Corp. Somebody had to do it! :superhapp
God bless all who served and serve! And those who remain at home and pray for their safe return.

Marcus:
Thanks for those pictures down memory lane: I, too, was a "Fecal Matter Dehydration and Sanitation Technologist" when I was in Vietnam. Glad to see the 21st Century Army still burns s_&# the old fashioned way! One of our guys got the ratio of MoGas to Diesel mixed up and reversed the prescription. (Something like one part diesel to 10 parts gas??) When he went to light the barrel, WHOOOM! The gas vaporized and went boom, setting fire to the back of the toilet hootch with flaming toilet paper and you know what. Kind of singed him but nothing serious, thankfully. For a few minutes we went to "red alert" thinking it was an incoming RPG or mortar round.
WELCOME HOME!
