Lucile Jane McDaniel ----- Lucile passed away peacefully on May 18, 2009 in Puyallup, Washington. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on February 27, 1920 to Edward H. and Lucy Gibbs McDaniel. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Jack; twin sister, Lucy Virginia; she is survived and remembered with love by her nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. While an infant, her family moved to California and she was raised in Cameron Canyon. She had many fond memories of those years, starting in a one room school house, graduating from Tehachapi High in 1932, and furthering her education at UCLA in the graduating class of 1942, majoring in Fine Arts. She worked for the Navy Department in Washington, D.C., served in the USMC, and worked as a secretary for the Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Dept for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Lucile was a talented artist who also enjoyed poetry, flowers, sewing and traveling. She was a good organizer and meticulous worker. She was a member of the Woman's Overseas Service League and had many friends there. She attended the Neighborhood Church in Palos Verdes Peninsula. Lucile was a refined, dignified lady and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
