Russell M. Crofutt Jr., 51, died May 30, 2009, in Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. He was born in Butler, Pa. and lived in Port St. Lucie for the past two years, coming from Greensboro, N.C. Before retirement, he was a gunnery sergeant in the Marine Corps for 22 years serving all over the United States and was a member of the Marine Corps League in Greensboro. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Melissa Crofutt of Port St. Lucie; sons, Michael Dietrich of Orlando; Russell Crofutt III of Vallejo, Calif.; daughters, Marian Crofutt and Taylor Crofutt, both of Port St. Lucie; two grandchildren; mother, Corrinne E. Crofutt of Port St. Lucie; brother, Frank Crofutt of Boynton Beach; and sister, Jeannette Weiss of Port St. Lucie, SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. June 4 at the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie. Inurnment will be in the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie.
