DONALD LEONARD ALPNER Age 79, of Hemet, CA, where he lived for 17 years, passed away Thursday May 28, 2009 at Hemet Valley Medical Center. Donald was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 8, 1929. He served our country proudly for 22 years in the Marine Corps. He retired from the Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant. His favorite past time was playing golf. His proudest accomplishment was that he had 5 hole in ones. He was very involved and active in the Hemet West community. Don enjoyed catering and serving his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Jane. He is survived by his children; Jim Alpner of Carlsbad, Harold Ashe of Buellton, Richard Ashe of Cottonwood, and Patricia Woodfill of Lockwood, brother Robert Alpner of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Grandchildren, Kimberly, Richard, Raechelle, Jeff, Christina and Darin. Great Grandchildren; Elizabeth, Emma Burgundy, Nicholas, Lucas, Logan and Madison. Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Cremations Inc., 1501 W. Florida Ave. Hemet, Ca. Funeral service will be at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging area #4 at 1:45 PM Friday, June 5, 2009 - Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Ca. A memorial golf tournament will be held at Hemet West on Saturday, June 6, followed by a luncheon at 1pm.
