Harold "Hank" Henry Served his country, family, church, and community -----Harold Henry of Fox Island died May 29, 2009. He was 94. Born June 17, 1914 in Detroit, he graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1932. Possessing expert mechanical skills, he worked most of his life for General Electric. Hank, as his many life-long friends called him, served in the Marine Corps in China during WWII, then married Jo Hudenko, his wife of 58 years. Hank raced power boats, piloted his Stinson across the United States, and kept his Packard in perfect condition. His passionate interests included construction, photo development, HAM radio operation, audio equipment, collecting, gardening, traveling, and taking pictures of nature. Hank was an extremely active church member of Cadillac Presbyterian in Detroit, Disco Methodist in Utica, Michigan for 30 years, and The United Church of Christ of Fox Island upon moving there in 1994. He was well-known on the island for his work with FICRA and the Fox Island Museum, where he had been restoring antique engines. Hank is survived by his wife Jo, children Gary (Jeaneane) of Romeo, Michigan, Richard of Fox Island, and Patricia (Hugh) of Gig Harbor, and grandchildren Claudia, Derek, Drake, and Audrey. A memorial service will be held at United Church of Christ, Fox Island, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 1:00 pm, with viewing from 12 to 1pm at the church. Interment will be at Fox Island Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Fox Island Museum. Arrangements are by Haven of Rest.
