M/Sgt James Joseph Clark, USMC Retired, 78, husband of Charlene "Shi" Fisher Clark, died Monday, June 1, 2009 at his residence. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6-8pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:30am in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Clark was born on September 2, 1930 in Freeport, IL. He is the son of the late Donald C. Clark and Francis Norris Clark. Mr. Clark was a member of AmVets Post #70, was a avid golfer and water skier. He served our country in the US Marine Corps doing tours in Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1968. He was a resident from 1966 to present in Beaufort. Surviving in addition to his wife, Charlene "Shi" Fisher Clark of Beaufort; five sons, James W. Clark and wife Martha of Beaufort; Thomas E. Clark of Beaufort; Robert C. Clark and wife June of Friendswood, TX; Kenneth A. Clark and companion Lee of Beaufort; and Jon J. Clark of Houston, TX; one brother William N. Clark and wife Kathy; one sister Sara F. Clark; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald C. Clark. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donation be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th Street, Port Royal, SC 29935.
