Morris Paul Moran ----- "For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:6-7, KJV. A resident of Gonzales, a retired carpenter and a member of Local 102, he passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at his home. He was 90, a native of Acy and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, May 29, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting will resume at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Survived by his wife, Eva Lambert Moran; daughter, Rochelle Bourgeois and husband Terry; two sons, Eugene Moran and wife Mary, and Randy Moran and wife Kathy; five sisters, Rena Nigg, Argelie Bourgeois, Ruth Braud, Theresa Savoy and Bernadine Moran; brother, J.C. Moran; four grandchildren, Chad Moran, Tonya Moran, Trish Bourgeois and Brandt Moran and fiancée Kelli Davidson; and two great-grandchildren, Raegan Bourgeois Sheets and Aubrey Bourgeois. Preceded in death by his sister, Rita Gautreau; four brothers, Albert Jr., Andrew Moran, Alex Moran and John Morin; and a great-grandchild, Shelby Bourgeois. Pallbearers will be Brandt Moran, Chad Moran, Perry Moran, Dean Lambert, James Morin and Cameron Braud. He was a member of Gonzales Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3693, Gautreau-Williams American Legion Post 81 and Holy Rosary Ushers Society. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, 4080 W. Airline Highway, Reserve, LA 70084.
