Michael D. "Crankshaft" Padelsky, 59, of Heyden Road, Troy, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late John Padelsky Sr. and Evelyn Robinson Padelsky and husband of Susan Taber. He had resided in Troy most of his life and was a 1967 graduate of Troy High School. Mr. Padelsky was a lift truck driver for General Electric in Waterford for 30 years, retiring seven years ago. He loved the out-of-doors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Michael D. Padelsky of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Christopher J. Padelsky of Troy and two grandchildren, Grace A. and Delaney K. Padelsky. He was predeceased by a brother, John Padelsky III. Funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy and at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
