GRAPEVINE -- James "Jim" A. Heckman, 76, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Funeral: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Visitation: Saturday, prior to the service, from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Heckman and a brother John Heckman. Jim was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on December 27, 1932. He retired from the Marines after 20 years and was a career Pilot for American Airlines. He has been a Model T (Ford) enthusiast since he was a child, was a member of the Quiet Birdmen Association. He was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Survivors: wife of 54 years, Oza Heckman; son, Bud Heckman and wife, Carole; granddaughter, Crista Heckman; mother-in-law, Velva Ruth Holt; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Rodger Dickinson; and numerous other family and friends.
