Robert I. Berlin, of Manheim, Pa., died Saturday evening May 23, 2009. Born in Erie, he was the son of Donna J. Law Gilson of Erie and the late Robert E. Berlin. Bob worked as a truck driver for Crowe Transportation in Elizabethtown: he was previously employed as a member of the Penske Indy Car Race Team. A. veteran, Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973-1978. He was the husband of Cynthia J. Fitch Berlin. Bobby was an avid outdoors man; he enjoyed all types of auto racing and music. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are three daughters: Julia M. Berlin, fiancee of Brad P. Hollinger, Angelique M. Saunders, wife of David Saunders all of Lancaster, Pa., Shawna C. Ballard of Manheim, Pa: two brothers, Randy Berlin, husband of Janet of Sitka, Alaska, Roy Berlin, husband of Jan of Erie, three sisters, Suzi Stablein, wife of Mark, Sally Dickerson and Sheryl Hoetzel all of Erie. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He will be lovingly missed by Jeanne Hitz and Robert Barboza. Bob was preceded in death by his step-father Tom Gilson. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bob's memorial service from the G. R. Bailey Funeral Home 4396 Iroquois Avenue, Lawrence Park, PA Saturday May 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Friends may visit the with the family at the G. R.
