Martha Ruth Brown passed away on April 26, 2009, in San Diego CA. Martha was born to George and Edith Grace (Bridgland) French on February 19, 1921 in Indepdence, MO. Martha worked for the KC phone company, attended art school then joined the Marine Corps at the beginning of World War II; upon discharge returned to Independence. Martha married Robert Brown of Independence, MO, on April 6, 1945. Martha enjoyed gardening and needlecraft for which she had very high standards. Martha is survived by four children, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and a sister. Bob was interred in San Diego, CA, until Martha passed away. Both were laid to rest in the family plot at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO on May 18, 2009.
