MARTIN W. GLADISH, 77, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he later moved to Fort Wayne, where he resided for 10 years, then moved to Greenwood, where he has resided the past 29 years. A Gunnery Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, he retired after five years of active duty and 25 years of reserve duty, in 1978. He spent many years working as a Dental Service Technician. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marilyn; two sons, Jeff of North Carolina and Randy of Virginia; daughter, Karen Howard of California; eight grandchildren; brothers, Al of Pennsylvania, Ray of Texas and Gene of Pennsylvania; and sisters, Dee Sementelli and Eleanor George, both of Pennsylvania. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street, with calling one hour prior to service.
