Rose Martin DePeano of Monroe, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 8, 2009 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Louis DePeano. She was born in Guntersville, Ala. and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Rose was a retired nurse and took pride working in the nursing profession. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Louis, she is survived by a close-knit and most loving family, her daughters, Dana Tasi and her husband, Rich of Shelton, Gena Cascio and her husband, Gary of Monroe, Stacey Baghdady and her husband, George of Monroe and six cherished grandchildren, Brittany and Brooke Tasi, Danny and Billy Cascio, and Alexandra and Ava Baghdady. She was predeceased by her parents, Elbert and Ruby Martin and her father and mother-in-law, Louis and May Malino DePeano. Funeral services will take place Monday, January 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Jude Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow at the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation- (AHCF), 1 High Meadow Road, Huntington, CT 06484 to help find a cure for the rare illness which her granddaughter, Brooke, is afflicted.
