Wilbur "Red" Lloyd Jones, 82, passed away on January 3, 2009, in Lakewood, California. Red was born in Anaconda, Montana on September 1, 1926, to Ivan and Rose (McQuade) Jones. He enlisted in the United States Marines Corps in 1944 and served until his retirement in 1970. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and the Vietnam wars. He remained active with several Marine alumni organizations, most notably George Company (G-3-1 Korea). He married Betty Brand in February of 1952, who preceded him in death on January 6, 2005. He is survived by one daughter and two sons, Christine (Randy), Daniel (Dian), Kevin; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Pellegrini, Anaconda, and Alice Hill, Arizona; sister-in-l aw, Fran Jones of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held at Luyben Family Mortuary, Long Beach, California, January 14, 2009 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral services with full military honors will be held January 15, 2009 at St. Cornelius Church in Long Beach at 11:00 a.m. with interment at All Souls Cemetery.
