Robert E. Duncan Jr., 88, of Marietta, Ga., died Tuesday, January 13, 2009.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Castellaw Funeral Home Jonquil Chapel with the Minister Richard Barnes officiating; burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, Ga.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Anne Duncan Oakes and son-in-law, Robert Oakes, of Conyers, Ga. and Georgena Mae Duncan Shaw of Winston, Ga.; one son, Robert E. Duncan III and daughter-in-law, Barbara Duncan of Bishop, Ga.; one sister, Carol Anne Carden of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Jack Duncan and his wife, Vaughn Duncan, of Sarasota, Fla. and Ramon Duncan and his wife, Eva Lee Duncan, of Independence, Mo.; also two grandchildren, Robert Anthony and his wife, Deborah Oakes, and Kiel Olin and his wife, Melissa Shaw; four great-grandchildren, Alexandra Carolann Oakes, Sydney Katherine Oakes, Hannah Leigh Shaw and Ryan Olin Shaw.
Mr. Duncan was a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church and an accountant with C.W. Matthews; he also retired from the Marine Corps and was involved in WWII, Korean Conflict and was a two-time Vietnam War veteran.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart and the American Lung Associations.
